Buenos Aires

Also called the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires is a large, complex, energetic, port city, and the capital of Argentina.

Porteños, as the residents are called, count for more than 13 million and have a rich and diversified cultural identity. The lifestyle and architecture are more European than any other city in the Americas.

Visit La Boca with its brilliantly colored houses and restaurants, Puerto Madero which is a collection of converted warehouses along the Rio Plata, now fashionable restaurants and shops, San Telmo and Recolleta in which you can stroll and get a good feeling of what Argentina is all about.

Climate: A temperate climate, with temperatures ranging from 35°C (95°F) in January to 10° C (50°F) in July. From December to March, it can become extremely hot with an average humidity of 65%. Most rainfall occurs during the summer.

Culture: Considered "The Pearl" of South America, Argentina's capital has an intense cultural life where tango, long coffee klatches and football (soccer) are essential elements of daily life.
